Family Scuba Adventures

Joey and I went scuba diving on Saturday in Key Largo. It was our first dive since I completed my scuba diving course in October. When we arrived on Saturday morning everyone else that was scheduled cancelled because they thought it was going to be too cold and too windy with big waves. WELL.... we ended up being the only 2 on the dive. The captain took just the 2 of us out on a private boat! We got to go to 2 dive locations, "Pillars" & "Snappers Ledge" that the larger scuba boats don't go to. It was awesome! Here's a photo of a little guy (Blackbar Soldierfish) that stared up at us with those great, big eyeballs and thought we wanted to eat him for lunch! Right before we got to Snappers Ledge we had a big adventure! The rope from the bouy got stuck in the prop. The captain asked Joey if he would go down and try to unwind the rope. The 5 to 6 foot waves tossed the boat all over. Joey got knocked on the head 4 times. THEN, the captain "gasped" when he realized the boat had drifted and Joey was 30 yards out trying to swim against the current. All ended well and we enjoyed all the adventures of the trip!
